‘Sky Signpost’, 2017

Material: textile, thread, wire
Dimensions: 50 x 15 cm

“Sky Signpost” is a guideline for walking through unexplored areas (areas of soul). The materials I used to create this work are soft structures (textile and thread) which symbolize the relation between sky and earth, so that the colour contrast is equivalent to the symbolic areal. The textile is knitted through with thread which simultaneously connects and separates these two spaces with nature. During a period of ten years I have been researching the shoe as a motif in various materials (clay, wire, glass, mirror, textile, thread, paper …). What is common in these works is a constant, continuous need for moving through the space of the individual and collective unconscious.
